Made it back from Anime Central (also known as ACEN), where a good time was had by all! We’ve been going to ACEN for many years now, and it is one of the largest anime conventions in the midwest – the unofficial count we heard was about 26,000 people this year.
As always, the costumes at ACEN were a highlight, and no genre or character was off limits – anime, video games, sci-fi, children’s cartoons, and of course: Pedo-Bear.

I don’t care if it comes out and no big developers make games for it. I don’t care if it comes out and nobody buys it because it’s “too expensive” or “isn’t in 1080 HD” or “all the motion makes me throw up”. I don’t even care if it has some horrible flaw like the 360′s RROD, or that it overheats after an hour. It’s still in a dev kit form, and there’s already a middleware and 3D drivers that let you play older Unity, Cryengine, Creative Engine, and Unreal Engine games in 3D.
We sold out of the pre-orders and the first round of amulets so quickly that we ran out of supplies! But don’t worry – we have everything you need to start making them again. Get one for yourself (or buy the set) over at our shop.
I stumbled across an interesting article today, about Ubisoft and the super-hush-hush department they call Alice. Alice is essentially a screenplay department – they help to define the scripts, characters, narrative devices, and work with the talent for voice and mo-cap acting. So you may be thinking, “What’s the big deal? Lots of video games have great stories and acting.” And you’d be right – kinda.

The amulet is almost done so we’ve made it available in the shop for Pre-Orders that will ship out in about 3 weeks. We’re still working on some finishing touches but you can see here a prototype that gives a pretty good approximation of what the final product will look like – The pendant and stone are each made by hand, then attached to a real leather cord.

Anime Milwaukee is this weekend, and we went to check things out on Friday. We’ll have a full report later this weekend.
For now though, I can say it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.
I love this game. There is nothing more fun than infecting a single person in South Africa with Fish AIDS and watching it spread throughout the world and killing all of humanity. It’s like being a mad scientist and having your phone become a DOOMSDAY WEAPON! MUHAHAHAHA!
Because Fish AIDS kills.
